Juba to Laarim (Boya) Tribe
Overnight: Camping in village

After an early breakfast, you depart Juba heading east toward the remote lands of the Laarim (also known as Boya) people. The journey takes around eight hours, passing through beautiful rural scenery with a stop in Torit for registration with local authorities and lunch. The remainder of the day is spent exploring the village, photographing daily life, and immersing yourself in Laarim culture.

Overnight: Camping in Lotuko village

The morning is dedicated to deeper interaction with the Laarim community, where you may witness traditional dances and observe village routines, including women dressed in beautiful traditional attire. After breakfast and further cultural exchange, you continue with a scenic drive of approximately two and a half hours to Ilieu โ€” a Lotuko village dramatically situated in the Ilieu Mountains. Upon arrival you'll explore the village, learn about Lotuko traditions, and enjoy outstanding mountain views ideal for photography.

You spend the morning exploring Lotuko village, with the possibility of seeing traditional dances performed by men and women in ceremonial dress. You then begin the drive toward the Mundari cattle camps โ€” a journey of approximately six hours. Arriving in the afternoon, you are welcomed into one of South Sudan's most iconic cultural settings. The Mundari are renowned for their deep spiritual connection to their cattle, and the evening is spent observing camp life, capturing photographs and videos, and learning about their unique traditions.
