Drive to Leptis Magna โ one of the world's greatest ancient sites, once second only to Rome during the reign of the Libyan Emperor Septimius Severus. Buried for over 1,000 years and uncovered by Italian excavations in the 1920s, its remarkable ruins are breathtaking in scale and preservation. Return to Tripoli in the evening.
Journey south from Tripoli as the scenery changes dramatically with the towering wall of Jebel Nafusa. Stop at the 12th-century fortified granary of Qasr al-Haj, then visit Tarmeisa โ a deserted ancient stone village perched on a narrow rocky outcrop. Descend into the Sahara and arrive at Ghadames, one of the oldest towns in the Libyan Desert.
Explore the old town of Ghadames, whose distinctive architecture of narrow alleys has earned it UNESCO World Heritage status. Visit a traditional house to gain insight into local lifestyle and cultural heritage. In the evening, witness a breathtaking sunset over the Algerian mountains.
Stop at Nalut โ a historic town perched on the edge of the Jebel Nafusa mountains with rich Berber heritage. Explore the ancient Qasr Nalut, with its honeycomb-like structure of storage chambers offering a glimpse into traditional Berber life. Continue to Tripoli, arriving by evening.
Head to the ancient city of Sabratha โ one of Libya's most impressive archaeological sites, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Sabratha was a thriving Roman city known for its magnificent theatre, stunning mosaics, and well-preserved temples. After the visit, transfer to Tripoli Airport for the flight back to Tunis.
