Day 1:
Arrival in Moshi

You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro airport by our representative who will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day can be used for resting and exploring Moshi. Overnight at Panone Hotel

Day 2:
Arusha - Chemka Hotspring

Take a ride early in the morning after breakfast slowly off the Moshi-Arusha road, stop at Boma ya Ng'ombe for a little stretching before going further interior to explore the hidden hot spring with clear water for swimming and hot lunch. Ride back in the evening.
Overnight at Panone Hotel.

Day 3:
Moshi - Lake Chala

Early in the morning after breakfast, we will start our journey off the tarmac road to Himo, 26km and
then to Lake Chala 14km with a bit of challenging dust road with some hills.
Overnight at Lake Chala Luxury Safari Lodge.

Day 4:
Full day at Lake Chala

Today we stay at Lake Chala. The lake has a great diversity of life. From lush lake shore forest to stunning volcanic savannah; from riverbeds marvelously carved through ancient rock to thick bush or open 'mbuga'. Walking at Lake Chala is a magical experience that will put you back in touch with nature.

Day 5:
Himo - Mambo View Point

A short ride from Lake Chala to Himo. A transfer to the foothills of the Usambara mountains. From
there, we will start a challenging uphill ride all the way to Mambo viewpoint. We will have the
opportunity to ride through lush green virgin forest while passing numerous waterfalls. The difficult ride will be rewarded in the end with a breathtaking view of the flatlands and villages on the west.
Overnight at Mambo View Point Eco Lodge.

Day 6:
Mambo View Point - Lushoto

Mambo Viewpoint - Lushoto, 58km from one side of the Usambara mountains to the other side, we
will cross many villages where we will see local life, schools, farms, and people in their everyday activities. While riding on a dirty and narrow road we will pass through a forest full of chameleons and blue monkeys. We will end in the small city of Lushoto which is the center of the West Usambara mountains.
Overnight at Lushoto Pazuri.

Day 7:
Lushoto - Segera

Lushoto - Segera 100km from the mountain, fresh air, green forest, and quiet life we will take a long downhill ride to enter the Tanga region. The whole surrounding will change, as we will pass through busy and loud villages and cities while cycling on bigger and dustier roads. Overnight at Segera Lodge

Day 8:
Segera - Tanga

Segera - Tanga 73km Today our ride will take us on a tarmac big road straight to Tanga city. On the way, we will enjoy the beautiful coastal area as we will see long plantations of fruit and a lot of street markets with different vegetables and fruits. Overnight at Villa Matalai Beach Hotel.

Day 9
Full day at Tanga

This day will be used for rest and exploring one of the most important Tanzanian coastal cities, Tanga. Finally, we will sense the Indian ocean and its beautiful sandy beaches. You can stay at the lodge the whole day, or you can explore the history and culture of the city, it is up to you.

Day 10:
Tanga - Pangani

Tanga - Pangani 50km, will take us through the Tanzanian coastal area. While we are cycling on a rough road, we will see long sisal plantations and learn how people use this plant for making rope, twine, and other products. Near Pangani, we will take the ferry to enter the city.

Day 11:
Pangani - Same

Today we will drive from Pangani to Same town which will take approximately 6hrs. Then we have lunch in Mkomanzi. Later in the evening, we will go for an evening game drive in Mkomanzi National Park. After an exciting evening game drive and beautiful sunset, we will make our way back to the hotel.

Day 12/13
Mkomanzi National Park - Departure

Early in the morning, we will go for the walking game within the national park, armed ranger will be right there to accompany us. After walking we will have our breakfast and proceed with a short game drive before lunch. After lunch we will drive back to Moshi where we will arrive in the evening hours.

What if I am a solo traveler and book a shared room?

That’s absolutely not a problem! You will be paired with another like-minded solo traveler and share the room with him/her.
We try our best to pair travelers of the same gender but in the odd case you might have to share a room with a traveler of the opposite sex or in rare cases share a triple room

How does the booking process work?

Your spot will be secured as soon as we receive your deposit payment. This deposit is refundable up to 10 days after your booking but after that, we can not refund you the deposit. You will receive an invoice for the balance payment 9 weeks before the trip starts.

What if I want to arrive a bit earlier or leave later than the set trip dates?

If your time allows, you might want to enjoy a few more days in the country. If you want some activity recommendations, feel free to drop us a message. We’ll be happy to help. We can also assist you in booking your extra hotel nights if you need.

What is the minimum/maximum number of participants?

We do have a guarantee of departure for this trip. 
And we take a maximum of 12 people + crew for each tour.

What about visa?

​You will get your visa on arrival. Cost is between 50 and 100 USD depending on your nationality.

What level of fitness do I need for this trip?

​You should be reasonably fit to enjoy this trip to the fullest. Most bike rides are between 50-100 km long, sometimes on bumpy roads.

What should I bring for this trip?

The essentials for this trip are: light but covering clothes, sun protections (hat, sunblock, glasses, scarf), swimwear and towel, powerbank, a small bagpack to strap on your bike, cash to pay for food and souvenirs. The biking equipment will be provided.

How much cash should I bring on this trip?

It is not always easy to find reliable ATMs in Tanzania. We recommend bringing enough cash to pay for your food (lunches and dinners), to buy some souvenirs, or to give tips to the local team. The equivalent of 400 USD should be plenty enough (unless you plan to buy some more expensive souvenirs).
