The essentials for this trip are: light but covering clothes, sun protection (hat, sunblock, glasses, scarf), cash to pay for food and souvenirs

ATMs are not available at all in Syria. We recommend bringing enough cash to pay for your food (lunches and dinenrs), to buy some souvenirs, or to give as tips to the local team. The equivalent of 400 USD should be largely enough (unless you plan to buy some more expensive souvenirs).
